Discover and act upon their strengths through challenging, adventurous and experimental learning activities.” With the theme “Growth and Stability”, the Philippine boy scouts proved that they are always ready especially in times of calamities.
Different activities were held in the camp that helped boy scouts develop their skills. Liter of Light PH had the chance to teach some of them to build a solar lamp. With this shared knowledge, they can now make their own solar lamps whenever a calamity strikes in their place. They can also share these informations to their family and friends when they come back to their hometown.
56 solar lamps and 4 streetlights were donated later that afternoon to the community chosen by Pepsi (Matin-ao, Maasin, Leyte). After the donation, the Boy Scouts formed a solar map using moonlights to show their support to the UN’s Sustainable development goal #7 (Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.)
