Liter of Light is a multinational social enterprise which repurposes discarded plastic bottles and installs them as environmentally friendly, sustainable lighting in improvised housing and developing districts.

To date Liter of Light has brightened up 28,000 homes and the lives of 70,000 people in Metro Manila alone. The project has spread from the Philippines to Indonesia, India and Switzerland with the goal of installing one million solar bulbs by 2015.

Illac Diaz, one of the World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders 2008, is the founder and Executive Director of Liter of Light. Involved in social enterprise projects at MIT and Harvard, Illac delivered a talk about Liter of Light at the TEDx earth summit in Dubai and is not to be missed at GTC.

This event will also offer an exciting forum for social entrepreneurs from different departments of the University to develop connections.

Venue: Barclay Room, GTC. Seating is limited so please arrive early to make sure you get a seat.
